In the world of medical sciences, nursing plays the rudimentary role that can not be replaced by anything or anyone. Nurses are people who take care of patients and are the main agents of rehabilitation process. Hence, a careful attention needs to be given to the education of this group. The UBT college of Kosovo has the largest nursing and rehabilitation group in the country and offers courses which are accepted by international organizations and follow the principles of European Union Directive on Nursing and Midwifery 2005/36 EC. Students who are enrolled in this program study through a development-oriented program. It means that the curriculum of the course is experience based and students undergo practical courses to experience various situations. Research is also highly important in development-oriented courses.

As it was mentioned in the previous paragraph, research plays a significant role in development-oriented programs. Therefore, the university has tried to provide all the needed facilities for students to participate in research projects and learn the science of nursing in a practical way. Anatomy lab, biochemistry, physiology, microbiology, fundamentals of nursing, first aid lab and computer lab have been prepared by the university and are at students’ disposal. In order to create the most authentic learning situations, emergency rooms, gynecology rooms, clinical skills and pediatrics rooms are prepared too. As it can be seen, practicality of education is one of the most important facts that has been considered by curriculum designers of this program.

This program takes 3 years to complete at Bachelor’s level and 2 years at Master’s level. Three types of courses are offered to the students, Health science courses, social science courses and humanity courses. By this 3-dimentional, development-oriented approach, all the needs of various hospitals and clinics are fulfilled and due to the internationality of the program offered, graduates would never face difficulties finding jobs .
